What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
The pay is as expected for an undergraduate.
Intern, Melbourne
I believe that CSIRO is paying students too low. The hourly rate is similar to a retail work environment.
Intern, Newcastle
I am a summer student, so I am getting a lot for that and am very satisfied.
Graduate, Sydney
For my position as an undergraduate, the pay I am receiving is very fair and valid for my work.
Graduate, Canberra, ACT
Pretty good. Currently an intern so don't really know much about that
Intern, Melbourne
For this job opportunity the pay is very competitive
Intern, Brisbane
As I am only a vacation student, I am very satisfied with my pay. Compared to people completing fixed work experience as part of their degree and not receiving pay (e.g. education students attending a school, nursing students working at the hospital), I have the opportunity to receive experience and decent pay for my responsibilities.
Graduate, Townsville
I don't have any bonuses applicable to me. The pay is fortnightly which is a pain and weekly would be preferable to me.
Intern, Newcastle
As a student, usually you don't get paid at all by these companies but CSIRO pays all their student interns. It is Australian minimum wage however but with CSIRO having a great reputation it is great for a resume for a high paying job, or you can go on to work there for around 100k as an established employee after your degree.
Intern, Brisbane
I am just a student so I don't get bonuses, but pay is fine, its around 150 a day so its pretty good for a vacation student I'm pretty sure.
Intern, Sydney
As a vacation student my pay is much lower than the rest of the employees, though much better than many other companies that do unpaid internships.
Intern, Melbourne
The pay is quite generous and the superannuation is amazing
Intern, Perth
As I am doing an internship, I think the pay is very good especially considering that a lot of organisations do not pay interns
Intern, Perth
I think getting paid for student vacation ship is a big bonus
Intern, Brisbane
For an internship pay is fine, I wouldn't do this for pay alone can get better money elsewhere. Only 8-12 weeks
Intern, Sydney
I am an intern so I am lucky to be being paid at all! Very happy to be paid.
Intern, Hobart
I am very satisfied with my pay. It is very exciting to be paid as an intern as they often work for free
Intern, Hobart
this is the first student position I have actually been paid for so hey I'm happy
Graduate, Hobart
They pay is slightly less than other companies' summer vacation programs. In general pay is worse in academia
Intern, Sydney
The pay at the internship level is extremely low in comparison to other companies.
Intern, Melbourne
What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
In-house cafe?
Intern, Perth
Free lunches every now and then.
Intern, Newcastle
We have fitness passport since we are a government institution, but as a summer student I cannot take advantage of that. We have a lodge on site where people can stay, but I am also not taking advantage of that.
Graduate, Sydney
None that I am aware of.
Intern, Bribane
free coffee/tea (pretty standard), government benefits, paid for a Christmas lunch
Intern, Brisbane
maybe you can visit sites where a project is being installed, they can even be overseas!
Intern, Sydney

Intern, Melbourne
superannuation
Intern, Perth
Waterfront views whilst having some great free events (Christmas parties)
Intern, Hobart
I am an intern so I don't get any perks
Intern, Hobart
there is nothing that tangible, but I like telling people that I work for the CSIRO. that's a perk
Graduate, Hobart
There aren't many perks, they do pay for travelling to conferences
Intern, Sydney
No perks. Government Organisation.
Intern, Melbourne
Christmas party
Intern, Melbourne
No unusual perks that I know of
Intern, Canberra
We got rewarded for our efforts with systems testing with an industry partner. It was totally unexpected and we felt we were just doing what was required of us!
Intern, Brisbane

Graduate, Newcastle
Generous leave (including for graduate/PhD students).
Graduate, Wollongong
